when you've got Nintendo leading the charge on the Wii with their Wii Fit's, Wii Sports, Mario's, Metroid's, Zelda's and Pokemon's, should it really be any surprise that the general perception of the Wii skews towards anything but the 'hardcore'?

not to say Fils-Aimé doesn't have a point, he does, but there's an old saying: "Lead by example." pointing to titles like MadWorld , House of the Dead: Overkill, The Conduit and an on-rails-shooter Dead Space isn't gonna get it done. not even close.

if Nintendo really wants the "hardcore" to consider the Wii an option, they've got to get behind the reins themselves. period. does that mean an "M" rated Zelda or Metroid with swearing, disturbingly graphic violence and tentacle porn? no, but i promise you that would that turn some heads right quick.

that we're still talking about this topic, almost 4 year later, says it all.

for a console RTS i enjoyed the hell outta Halo Wars. i thought Ensemble did an excellent job regardless of the game's only shortcoming (short campaign/lack of a Covenant campaign). Aside from that, i found everything else to be exceptional. what was there just wasn't enough.

worst parts about all of this is that not only will we probably never see a sequel (im not holding my breath at least) but 'Halo Wars' itself will be more remembered as "that game that brought down Ensemble."

lol, that's cute that you think a 'notion' can't be referred to as 'insipid' but don't take my word for it, just google it and see all the examples or you can look here:

    8th paragraph, 1st sentence.

'insipid', when used as a synonym, can mean "devoid of qualities that make for spirit and character". you described it's use as an adjective. fucking English language, eh?

anyway, i understand the 'whys' and 'hows' of that environment but my point is that i do think Gamestop are in fact breaking the law in exploiting their employees. it's just they're not as wide-reaching and visible to the public (as say Walmart) because all Gamestop does is "sell videogames".

i do agree with that last sentence about American companies but that's a whole other topic for another website.
