As soon as the administrators come in its game over.
Their concern is selling off the assets to pay their fees and the Inland Revenue (who come before staff who are at the bottom of the list)
Same thing happened to Argonaut Games 4 years or so back.
No staff have been made redundant is exactly what Argonaut said and a few weeks later it was dead and buried.
Sounds like they have no redundancy packages on offer either so that means having to use the government scheme which is capped and you end up with a pitiful amount.

I think the EA recruitment drive will be on hold what with the earnings reduction and layoffs in 2009.
Not a company i think many people feel comfortable working for at the moment.

Its a real shame as Mirrors Edge was great new IP (i didn't like it personally) A important step in EA moving forward.
Similarly Dead Space was really good and a fantastic new IP for the company.
But EA's biggest issue and the cause of a lot of these problems is all the money lavished on NFS-Undercover which politely put is an embarrassment and rightly so has not sold well.
JR blames new IP for lackluster earnings but lets be honest NFS is a staple most years and sells bucket loads which is hasn't done this time.
Think its going to be a turbulent 2009 for EA employees

Can't believe they have sent out this press release....
How insensitive can you be towards employees who have lost their jobs.
600 let go and your employing a new exec
    Ridiculous

Very dodgy as Mystakill posted but nothing new.
It's very bad timing when staff morale at EA is at an all time low to see work colleagues let go then the CEO buys in loads more stock at rock bottom price in a obvious personal profit making venture.
Perhaps they should spend less on buying up companies and concentrate on making sure they don't make staff redundant.
It's about time (with the huge profits made) that these companies started to act more maturely towards staff when less than great quarter results come in.
I know some guys let go from EA LA recently right after completing work on Red Alert, you work your ass of for finite period of time and then get given the boot after the title ships.
Perhaps a Union such as BECTU would stop this happening as often as it does !
