Totally unexpected, but I'm not complaining! The first one was great.

    Rock on, Grasshopper. Rock on.

Pretty cool how this all turned out, where a research article on the PSP turned into a fairly open response from Sony themselves. Good work, Edge:)

As an avid PSP fan, I have seen the decline in interesting software releases, but I'm hopeful the future is different. And Koller's response is in line with what I think: there needs to be more software built from the ground up with the PSP's strengths in mind, not just quick and dirty ports. I guess that's something all devs should be doing though, regardless of platform. I'm not too keen on all the minor hardware updates either, but at least they're not required or anything.

I guess this just shows how stupid publishers are sometimes, where the pursuit of money blinds good judgment. No one's gonna buy a game that tries to emulate a console game, but makes the player wait 2 freakin' minutes to load while sitting on the john! It's a waste:(

Test Drive Le Mans was indeed an awesome game. I think about playing that game every so often, even when I have GT5 Prologue. I remember it was the first game that I had ever played that used the triggers for gas and brake, making it easier to brake properly.

    Man, good times:)

Oh man, I friggin' love the Prime series. This deal has "gaming gold" written all over it. Cannot wait to see the fruits of their labors:)

Wow, didn't see that one coming. I really thought EA would have pulled out a win in late innings. I'm sure T2 stock is going to sink a good chunk this week, as it seemed bloated based on their acquisition talks with EA. Now that it's done with, it's gotta hit its true value soon.

Either way, this back and forth was really entertaining, and I can't wait to see what happens next:)

  • Many writers and game designers seem to think that, when creating FPS games for mass-market, a silent main character is the best way to involve a player within the game's narrative and universe. While I find some academic truth in that, most of the time this tactic proves itself wrong when, plainly, the main character never says anything, especially when people actually talk to him. A good example of this situation is Gordon Freeman. At this point, Gordon has gone through two main adventures, and two episodic ones. And since 1998, he hasn't said one word. Why?
