Assasins Creed, as an example, is currently available in the UK brand new and sealed for £8.99 including postage. So if I order it now I'll have to wait, say 36 hours, but then I have a new game that I can trade in or sell on "Like New" making back at least 50% (though more likely 75%) of my initial spend.
Not to mention the fact that surely the people this is aimed at have already owned, played and discarded the games in the list. Those who are newer to Xbox, likely do not have the 120gb hard drive and therefore lack storage over and above the economic factors.
I'm thinking that £9.99 would be a much better price point. More than an online copy but by such a slight margin that I wouldn't care.....
It's not so much the fact that the price is stupidly high that ticks me off. It is the simple fact that Americans and Europeans can buy the unit cheaper than us in the UK. Am I supposed to believe that to build a PSP Go for a gamer in New York is cheaper than for one in Old York, England.
I'd import one, but of course Sony all but attempted to destroy import gaming several years ago. Still, they shall reap what they sow. Much as they want to languish sales wise with the PS3 so they shall with the PSP Go. In years to come marketing degree students will be taught all about the company who sailed so high.....only to bring it all crashing down around their ears.

The real rip off as per usual is for us in the UK. $249 US is £153 UK so we are paying an extra £100 from the off. Even in Euros we are still suffering although to a lesser amount. Oh the joy of living in the UK and the Dollar to Pound straight conversion operated by console manufacturers.
This whole thing was a botch from the start. Firstly, Sony hasn't marketed well or shifted amazing numbers of its own exclusives and secondly; GHOSTBUSTERS?!!! Yeah, that's a triple A killer system shifting title. Even if it was the greatest licensed game of all time it's going to struggle to sell, especially since not only are we in an economic downturn but Infamous is just out and Uncharted 2 and Prototype aren't far off along with the expense that the summer brings, holidays etc etc.
Factor in the fact that you can now pick this up at Play Asia for about the same, on Xbox (the pound gets stronger against the dollar every day) with achievements and Sony have basically slimed themselves not just in the foot but all over.
Ghostbusters is one of those games that will get 60 to 70% and will only sell marginally in about a month to 6 weeks when Play and Amazon slash it's price in half. Not only will Sony suffer but the games sales as a whole will to because when it does finally get released on the other consoles we will have all moved on to bigger and better things.
If an alien came to Earth right now and you told it that once, Sony ruled the gaming world in terms of advertising, sales and eveything else it would look at you and think you were mad.
