right so it would be more logical and accurate to compare the PS1 to Xbox, but hey we don't wanna do that cause Sony made 378,478 million yen in profit on the PS1 compared to the $4B in losses MS incurred on the Xbox
I'm not making assumptions about your comments, I'm disagreeing with it, this IS about lack of new IPs, you need new games to generate interest, when you keep releasing sequels all you're doing is catering to the same audience
Nintendo did release new IPs like Wii Sports and Wii Fit, but the Wii's having all kinds of problems cause they brought in millions of people who don't exactly buy games, Nintendo balked at releasing new games like Disaster Day of Crisis, but if they want to expand the gamer demographic then they'll have to start taking some risk instead of constantly playing it safe with Mario & Zelda sequels
3rd parties have supported the Wii with quality games and plenty of new IPs like MadWorld, Dead Space Extraction, Arc Rise Fantasia, Little King's Story, Zack & Wiki, etc, but Wii owners just don't buy them whether they're new or sequels, so its not the fault of 3rd parties and they should not they keep wasting their time & money on the Wii when their games sell much better on the PS3 & 360
and its not a ludicrous suggestion that Nintendo fans shun 3rd party games, that's been shown over and over in sales, and all the popular games today like Resident Evil, Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty, GTA, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Tales, Monster Hunter, Winning Eleven, etc, were either new IPs or revival of old ones that turned into huge franchises on Sony & MS platforms, 3rd parties haven't been able to create a huge franchise with any of their games on Nintendo platforms since the N64
>> I agree with Iwata - there just aren't enough new games to keep regenerating
>> interest in the Wii. That is partly the fault of third-parties being slow to get quality
>> product onto the system.
no its Nintendo's fault, they hardly release any new IPs themselves and during the N64 days they "brainwashed" their userbase to shun 3rd party games, there's been plenty of quality new IPs from 3rd parties, Nintendo fans just don't buy them

they'll also need to release some Halo game for every one of those quarters XD
I find it very hard to believe that the 360's accessory attach rate is higher than the Wii's
