I really like Sony's Playstation, but what exactly has Sony innovated?
Their PSx controller is based on the N64 controller. The Dreamcast had online gaming, and the original Xbox implemented it better than Sony. The Playstation used CDs, but Sega did that first.
What Sony did well with the Playstation was probably more in the line of the software and the game library. I'm not knocking Sony, but execution rather than innovation probably been their strong point.
