Can't help but think that this was a bitch move by a very bitter Sony! They certainly have the right to do it... but me thinks it was more so out of spite than anything else.

Nintendo always had a problem with 3rd parties? That's news to me... And the NES, SNES, GB, GBA, and DS all say "HIIIII!"

3rd party support has only been a problem with N64 and Gamecube. It certainly isn't a problem with the Wii - the *quality* of most 3rd party offerings is the issue on Wii.

Now that I think about it... the reason why it seems that the general consensus is disappointed with Wii is because that ascertion is sensationalized in the gaming media tenfold. There is no doubt in my mind that the media has it out for the Wii.

Now if only I could get paid to do a content analysis study on this very subject...

The Wii owners we see and hear pissing, moaning, groaning, and bitchin' on these here boards, over at Kotaku, Joystiq, etc. represent an extremely small minority of Wii owners - even so-called 'hardcore' Wii owners.

I'd like to see empirical evidence of Wii being bought, collecting dust, and being sold off. Craigslist and eBay are purely anecdotal. Not only that, but if the second-hand Wii market is as boisterous as you all seem to think it is, why are Wii's selling ridiculous amounts each month, including 800k this month?

It doesn't make sense. The 'Wii Collecting Dust' theory has been disproven time and time again... most recently last week when NPD figures were released showing that the Wii had such a high attach rate (higher than PS3 at DOUBLE the installed base).

People... Just because YOUR Wii sits and collects dust doesn't mean EVERYONE'S Wii sits and collects dust. Everyone on here is rational, so we should be able have discussions without over-generalizations!
