For $8 I get Netflix on my Xbox...which is really cool. I also get it on my TiVo, so I have two units in my house that do the same thing. I have to say that I find the quality of my viewing experiences are better on the Xbox 360. I wish the selection was much wider. It's like going to the video store and searching the "bargain" bin for streaming movies. But it is still a relatively cheap and fast way to watch movies from home. Kudos for MS for making the Xbox 360 an entertainment hub.
Yeah, I'll have to disagree with you there. Because of the range of quality games on the system, any hardware issues it has, can be overlooked. And I've sent my current console in 3 times and had it replaced once. I love my Xbox 360. And if this one dies outside the warranty, I'll head right over to Best Buy and get a new one without regrets.
"If you build it, he will come."
The games are there and so worth the occasional headache of hardware failure. They're making an effort, which I appreciate. It's a costly mistake they won't make again.
I think practical gaming...in high definition...using an online only model is still YEARS away from catching on. I like having my local box at home. I like having my fat hard drive to download videos and demos and keep them forever. I like being able to take my Xbox 360 to my friend's house and play there offline. I think this OnLive thing is a step in the right direction, but not something that's going to be done right for quite some time.
The current ranking system completely confuses everyone. And all those people who have four chevrons always QUIT right before the end if they are going to lose so they can keep their stupid rank. A change is certainly needed...anything is better than what they have now. Even the Halo system would be cool.
Awesome news. I thought Dead Rising was one of the best games that year. The unique gameplay mechanics and just the fun of slaughtering THOUSANDS of zombies was very welcomed on the Xbox 360. The humor throughout was pretty cool, too. -- I do hope they change some of the time-sensitive missions...it was a lot of STRESS to complete a task on time AND choosing which mission to take on rather than trying to save everyone. I also hope the save system gets an update...but other than that, what a unique, memorable and exciting experience. I really LOVED Dead Rising. Cool!
