Having played the original Space Invaders in the arcades (I was rubbish at it) I am now an aged gamer with grey hair and permanently twisted thumbs from so much button mashing. Despite long periods away from games I always come back to them, simply because they’re fun and easy to unwind to. I like FPS and JRPG, have fond memories of Ultima and the original Tomb Raider. Bring it on!

The thing I hate most in games is having to hit buttons during cut-scenes, a la Dragon's Lair. Yuck!

I am a writer. You can see some of my stuff on my website.

I bet Sony is spitting bullets! Although I love their machine, their arrogant attitude (from their success with the PS2) and desperation to win the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray war is costing them dear. They need to put up some money and get themselves some big exclusives, and soon!

I'm hoping for a online coop version of Zelda: Four Swords, or something similar.

I think your reviewer was so looking forward to the release of this game that the reality could not match the hype, which inevitably leads to disappointment. I'm close to finishing the game, and it's one of the most infuriating games I've ever played, I have almost thrown my controller at the screen several times, but it always pulls me back for another go. It's certainly not even close to perfect, for many of the reasons mentioned here, but it was fun and different. I would give it 7/10. Shame the sales stink, this Christmas might just put the nail in the coffin of new titles.

Trophies are nice, although I admit I don't really take any notice of them that much. However I would say the system seems much better incorporated into the game experience on the XBOX, rather than the PS3, where it feels like a late addition.

What does surprise me is that there isn't more integration between trophies, in-game awards and (especially) DLC. You know, clear the game on a perfect setting for a gold trophy and win a downloadable thingumy, or 10% off your next live purchase.

I don't think that MS knew when it began manufacturing the Arcade system that such a download would necessitate a larger HD. it seems to completely negate the saving of buying the Arcade system, and the reason people would buy the arcade is because its cheap, and who could blame them at such a time.

I think that both MS and Sony have made big errors with the specs of their machines, and have been especially too stingy with the specs of the hard drives. If I was to buy a new 120 HD for my Xbox 360 it would cost me around £100. I can buy a normal 500 sata drive for half that! Madness!
