>>NEWSFLASH<< YOU STILL CAN! Heres to buying games that aren't new releases and enjoying them!
Is it third person shooters you don't like? Or is it Uncharted 2? I think you need to ask yourself this question. Zelda is first and foremost an RPG/puzzler. Sure you fight and jump a lot but they're secondary experiences to the puzzling and role playing. Uncharted 2 and Gears of War are of a similar breed, and you didn't like either.
Likewise with enjoying Borderlands, however I would be playing Uncharted 2 (which I played the first hour of) but unfortunately my PS3 YLoD'd yesterday with U2 in the drive, this was 2 days after buying my 360 and I've had my PS3 since June 2007, crazy coincidence huh?
From what I played though I'm really looking forward to the rest, I found the coach scene and the flashbacks really enjoyable, and like the first game I found the experience really calming. Yeah the scene is pumped up action but everything is so smooth I just sat back and enjoyed the ride.
Wouldn't it still be cheaper in the long run to get a PS2 and just buy the cheap as chips pirated games at local markets and such?
Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I bought Borderlands. A game based around online functionality on a system where online is it's strong point, I can imagine cross game chat will be important if I'm stuck on that game and not wanting to move. Still yet to boot the game up though, my last uni math exams coming up and I don't think I'll be happy to let go of Borderlands once I jump in. Not to mention I have Liberty City stories and Forza 3 staring me in the face.
As for exclusives, obviously that's the main point of having both systems, and PS3s online functionality is not bad, I've been playing Warhawk for years now and that's a purely online experience which plays really, really well. However cross game voice chat and the party system implemented on 360 are two stand out things missing on PS3, and I think Sony are working on copying them, at least cross game voice chat has been confirmed but I don't know about the partying system, the software experience MS has certainly shows on the 360 but Sony have a few flairs of its own, I appreciate real currency pricing on PSN, a minimalist UI, and out of the box online functionality. I'm also one of those weird people that likes Home now. Not heaps but I think it's kinda cool.
