I loved System Shock 2 - especially the story (and that you could play it co-op) - but I have to argue that Bioshock was a better game. The "interactive" elements of SS2 were all just in-engine cut scenes that gave you the illusion of being in control. In no case could you affect the outcome of events since the door would always close just before you got there or the remote monitor show you what was happening somewhere else. It was always a tease in SS2 and that grew frustrating by the end of the game.
I feel like a sucker for having paid for and played through Ao2. It didn't even have an ending! Just a cut scene for what should have been the final boss. Sooo many bad design choices and wannabe elements.
EA should look at how many copies are sitting on used game store shelves at $20 as a testament to how uninterested the public is in playing more.
I don't buy that many games and I never buy them used. I hate dealing with the tools at game stores. I hate having games sitting around that I'll never play again. I love this. I get credit towards books and other things I might actually want, not just towards the 5 games a year which are worth having.
Of course, XBox 720 and ps4 will be digital delivery consoles anyway so this only matters for a couple more years.
If games and movies don't develop some mutual respect, all we can expect are films that are really bad action games and games that are really bad films, says Steven Poole.

The PR stunt frag dolls are the representatives for female gamers age 25-54? I didn't realize Windows came with a solitaire deathmatch game...
EA doesn't keep unsuccessful MMOs alive. See Earth & Beyond, Motor City, Sims Online...or rather don't see them.
Doomed.
