Game: Halo. I really appreciated the near perfection of Half-Life 2 but Halo was a landmark to a whole crowd of gaming. To me, Halo started the now standard-controls with twin stick, melee, grenades. They implemented easy usable vehicles, large maps with lots of gameplay variety and a physics engine that all holds up quite well. After playing many other shooters, it has become clear to me how advanced Bungie AI is, and to those who blindly just charge and shoot, this may get easily overlooked. Perhaps the art style isn't fantastic and weapon / level design was lackluster, but it raised the bar in so many areas, I can overlook it's imperfections. Sometimes I wish there was no XBL so we would have to set up system-link lan parties again.

Person: Sweeney/Rein. Unreal tech is amazing for gamers, scripters and for content creators and has been for a decade. Some good engines come and rival UE, but none have the history and client base that UE has.

Moment: GoW Beating RAAM on insane. I love some good boss battles, and this one I felt like I had to be perfect to beat him. Perhaps there are exploits or easy strategies, but for me I just had to get _better_ and that is what I love games to make me do because the satisfaction is so great when he died.

Most of my stuff is FPS, but they compose maybe 25% of my library. It is hard to gush over NHL09's new skating physics, yet another zelda masterpiece, or WC3's RTS-RPG hybrid innovation when compared to the major developments in FPS. I hope next decade a new genre takes the forefront, specifically MMOs not named WoW.

Nintendo is has had growing profits for 5 years (until Q4'09) and is one of the most profitable tech businesses. If you feel it is underpowered, dont buy one, but they have the most right to be in business than any other company.

Agreed. I always like honesty from an entertainment perspective but you brought up some good points on why its beneficial to the community if we hear what developers think. Fans who give their two cents don't necessarily understand the development side, but maybe that is the developers fault. A more informed community will make better decisions and give better feedback. A lot of the annoying retards on the internet are just ignorant, so the more information; the better.
