Sorry but I fail to see how Nintendo's supposed weak support and SDKs have lead to some third parties producing excellent titles and others publishing complete rubbish.
Neither of those things forced Midway to produce a Crusin' title for the Wii or force people to port PS2 games to the Wii. Those decisions were made by companies wanting to cash in on the Wii without spending any real money.
My problem with the GTA series is that more and more the good characters and stories are being over taken by the missions which, let's face it are just a small collection of mini-games.
In fact Rockstar has been getting rich off mini-games long before Nintendo Wii generation.
If the GTA series wasn't completely open I don't think the series would do well. The flying missions have always had horrible controls, the racing missions are typically the definition of cheating AI and neither of these have improved since GTA3. Instead we get nagging friends that make my Animal Crossing friends look like angels. Oh and TV shows.
Users need that open gameplay so they have have a break in between the repetitive and overly played out missions.
I don't think users need more realism (GTA:SA was excellent) they just need more new and fun things to do.
So far my experience of GTA 4 is generally a good one but it feels a bit too much like GTA 3 with better graphics. The only thing that's kept me in the game is the characters. Nintendo gets away with reusing the same Mario story with great gameplay. Rockstar gets away with it by writing a good story to wrap around their tired gameplay. We need a game that can do both.
My attitude is that no one should get special treatment for something that happened ages ago because of the simple fact, as I've stated, every group of people at some point received shit from someone. So where do you draw the line? Should everyone compensate everyone?
The fact I believe in real equality means my attitude is perfectly valid. I don't like what happened in the past but the fact is I haven't done anything wrong nor has anyone in my family for numerous generations. So whether someone is black or Chinese they shouldn't come to me looking for an apology. That is a fair stance that doesn't favour anyone else. But the message author I've replied to is making it out like Capcom has done something wrong. If that is his belief then he should be equal and defend against the wrong-doings against others as well rather than being self serving because it just makes you look like a hypocrite.
The fact is as long as we keep drawing lines between people there will never be equality. Everything in the past should be forgiven and we move on. Claiming the blacks deserve it because they fought for it is silly. It just implies that all you need to do in life is complain the loudest and you'll eventually get your way.
For example, while it's a very minor thing in the grand scheme of things it's quite sad that equality in free speech does not exist. The fact blacks have full access to all words where as any other race has to watch themselves and especially avoid the "N word". Look, if we want to ban the word then fine. Do it for everyone. No some people.
The problem is I don't think people are ready to be equal because humans have had to be self serving towards their to survive for centuries. We should at least have the decency to recognise this fact and quit acting as if their actions have equality's best interests in mind and they should be labelled as self serving with no implication that anything they're doing is for equality.
Uh hello GTA:SA is a game starting a black person and in fact the black heroes kill Latinos and whites yet you didn't mention that as if it doesn't matter. You say there are many but then you can only name one which doesn't even support your argument. You've just proved my point exactly.
Every family has slavery in their background because everyone including Chinese, Irish, etc. have been slaves. In fact Chinese slaves were used by the US to help build the rail lines in the west. This is also why Americans offensively refer to all black people as African Americans. Ignoring the fact that not all black people come from Africa and not allowing white people born in Africa to correctly claim their title as African-American. Maybe if people used their minds they'd realise that title is BS. Jamaicans and blacks from that part of the globe generally don't like Africans and visa verse. How do you think they like being called African American?
They also conveniently forget most of Africa's problems are due to corrupt black Africans like Mugabe who, I'm sure you know, isn't some colonialist puppet. Ethiopia participates in the Miss Universe pageant and their contestants are anything from starved and poor. Why? Because the black people running those countries are crapping over their citizens and keeping the wealth to themselves. That is also why western nations should quit giving hand-outs. None of that money filters down to the people that need it. It may surprise you but black people can be corrupt too.
This strategy worked well for democrats and left the republicans handicapped by those redneck families migrating from the democrats to the republicans. One day the Republican party will realise this and reinvent themselves as well. Hopefully when they do so they won't damage the US by brainwashing the nation with propaganda, guilt and out-right lies.
I think you're quite naive and you're biased. You only care about your own heritage and seem overly protective of it while forgetting your fellow man. Hence the reason you pick a game about blacks killing blacks, latinos and whites and use it as a game about mass killing of black people.
