Here's guessing Denmark will get screwed over once again on the whole moving pictures-on-demand thing. It'll be like PS3 Vidzone all over again ;)
Seriously, having collected games for a long time (and therefore not needing the Games On Demand thing, unless it's truly original download-only games), neither Xbox 360 nor PS3 has had any mentionable upgrades for my taste. Private Chat is the thing that makes the Xbox 360 the online preferenced console here, and no avatars, text chats, premium themes or other virtual crap is going to change that. Sony, copy that feature, and you will be immensely more popular with my crowd ;)
Cutting down on the sarcasm a bit, I'd rather sooner hear from Microsoft, when (if?!) they are going to launch this service (and the whole movie service thingy as well, now I'm at it) in the apparently medieval place of Denmark, where I have the misfortune to live (in this respect).
It's oh so nice to hear about all the kinds of great things my Xbox 360 is capable of - if you live in the US. Pull out the proverbial finger of the very real arse, Microsoft, and release the flow. We'll sort out the chunks, no sweat, if you just give us the chance.
Jarrad getting a PS3 for LBP:
I'd say yes, but primarily for the online community as the singleplayer campaign is quickly finished. And this really is a game, that is best appreciated with 1-3 other human players. In my case, I've been playing it with my 5-year old son online with a friend and his 5-year old son. Nothing beats that kind of entertainment, no matter the game, but LBP gives you more space to play around in and just have fun. So, as an entertainment tool, you cannot really find anything quite like it, but you really oughtn't play it alone.
Unrelated, it's SOO nice to finally see a masterpiece like Boom Blox get some recognition - especially considering how little "real" games Wii fans has seen in 2008.
SEGA was at rock-bottom, when they made their inevitable choice and saved their own neck. Because PS3 isn't selling as hotcakes, it is naive to think, that Sony are in any way close to the brink of self-destruction - their brand(s) are making them a lot of money.
Most industry experts, my behind. I can smell a very personal opinion there. And the rest of the sentence does nothing to change that view, either.
Chris Dahlen meets the director of interactive fiction documentary Get Lamp and remembers how rich a world that only costs the time it takes to write it can be.
