I've created an account just to post a comment, after seeing the backlash from other sites and journalists aout this review score. Giving a low score because it lacks innovation is rediculous. Edge gives Gears 2 a 9 when all it really is s Gears 1.5. Gears 2 has less innovation over Gears 1 than R2 does over R1. R2 looks completely different to R1, while Gears 2 looks like its an add-on pack to Gears 1. Don't get me wrong, I love Gears and would have it on any console and the same would have gone for R2, I would have bought it for 360. But lets face it, R2 an exclusive on 360 would have gotten a higher score from Edge.
This is what you get when Future Publishing hires local newspaper journalists to write for their magazines. I remember when PSW editors produced their c.v.'s (resume's) in one issue and none of them had previous for game journalism. Edge editors aren't gamers and probably watch their children play these games while they take notes.
Relic breakoff Smoking Gun Interactive explains its ambitious graphic novel and ARG project, all built to serve its still to be revealed new console IP.
